Resources for Pastoral Care
We recognize that addiction, which takes many forms, is physical, mental and spiritual in nature. Here,
we provide links to general and Maryland-based resources. Something to add? Please contact our webmaster.
Prayer for Victims of Addiction
O blessed Lord, you ministered to all who came to you: Look with compassion
upon all who through addiction have lost their health and freedom.
Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy; remove from them
the fears that beset them; strengthen them in the work of their recovery; and to
those who care for them, give patient understanding and persevering love. Amen. (BCP, p. 831)
Prayer for Those Who Mourn Tom Palermo
Almighty God, Father of mercies and giver of comfort: Deal graciously, we pray,
with all who mourn the death of Tom Palermo; that, casting all their care on you,
they may know the consolation of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
