Scriptures reveal that earthquakes are a part of the natural order:

Mark 13:8 ESV / For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.

Matthew 24:7 ESV / For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

Psalm 77:18 ESV / The crash of your thunder was in the whirlwind; your lightnings lighted up the world; the earth trembled and shook.

Psalm 104:32 ESV / Who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke!

Colossians 1:16-17 ESV / For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Luke 21:26 ESV / People fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Revelation 6:12-14 ESV / When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale. The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

Revelation 16:18 ESV / And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake.

Scripture tells us we will not know when the last hours of earth shall be:

Matthew 24:36 ESV / But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

Matthew 24:44 ESV /Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Matthew 24:42 ESV / Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.

Scripture tells us that our comfort remains in the Lord:

Revelation 1:8 ESV / I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Philippians 4:12 ESV / I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.

Psalm 46:2 ESV / Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea.

1 John 3:2 ESV / Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

2 Peter 3:9 ESV / The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 ESV / But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

1 Corinthians 15:51 ESV / Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:22 ESV / For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

John 17:20-22 ESV / “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one.

John 6:20 ESV / But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”

Matthew 6:33 ESV / But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
