These are the ducks that fill our neighborhood’s families’ lives with wonder all season long.  Neighbors come by and feed them day in and day out.  The children watch them as they raise their little ones, and pray that the snapping turtles will leave them alone.  Last year we had twenty-three through the winter.  This year we are starting out with thirty-five or more.   The Canadian Geese come and join them at the lake, but fly away at dusk in the spring, summer, and early fall months.  All in all it is a busy group of quackers….
